Thirty Straight Session Agreement

This is the agreement you accept when you buy a Thirty Straight session. It is written in plain English on purpose. It is short. Read the whole thing.

1. Who this agreement is between

This agreement is between you and R.J. Duffy, an individual doing business as Thirty Straight ("Thirty Straight," "we," "us"), reachable at hello@thirtystraight.com. You accept this agreement by checking the consent box at checkout and completing payment.

2. What you're buying — and who you're talking to

One payment (currently $19) buys one full 30-minute advice session. There is no subscription, no membership, and nothing renews — ever. When you want another session, you buy another session.

The session is with an AI. Thirty Straight is powered by artificial intelligence. You are conversing with software, not with a human being. It's built to be blunt, useful, and honest about what it is — and it will tell you it's an AI if you ask.

  • The clock: a full session runs up to 30 minutes from your first message.
  • The link: your session link is good for one full session, started within 7 days of purchase. Use it in the same browser to keep your transcript.
  • The plan: a full session ends with your next moves in writing, which you can download and keep.

3. What Thirty Straight is — and what it is not

Thirty Straight is practical advice, strategy, and accountability on career, money, dating, discipline, and decisions.

Thirty Straight is not therapy, counseling, psychotherapy, or medical or mental-health care, and it is not a licensed therapist, counselor, physician, or mental-health professional — it is software. A session is not licensed care of any kind and is not a substitute for it.

Session content is handled as described in the Privacy Policy, but no legally recognized professional-client privilege — like the ones that protect what you tell a doctor or a lawyer — applies to anything you share with Thirty Straight.

At the start of a session you must affirm the following acknowledgment, and it is a condition of use: "I understand Thirty Straight is AI advice — not therapy or medical care, and not for crisis support."

4. Not a crisis service

If you are in crisis, thinking about harming yourself or someone else, or facing an emergency of any kind: call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline — free, confidential, 24/7) or call 911. Do not use a session for this. No human monitors sessions, and the AI is instructed to stop and point you to 988 rather than work through a crisis with you.

5. AI advice comes with no guarantees

The advice you get is generated by a large language model. It can be sharp and it can be wrong — sometimes confidently wrong. It is one input into your decision, not an instruction. You are solely responsible for your own decisions, actions, and results. It is not professional financial, legal, tax, or medical advice, and when a decision calls for a licensed professional — a doctor, lawyer, accountant, or financial advisor — hire one.

6. Refunds

  • Technical failure on our side eats your session? Email hello@thirtystraight.com and a human will make it right — a replacement session or a refund, your pick.
  • Paid but never started? Ask within 14 days and we'll refund it.
  • Completed sessions are non-refundable except where the law requires a refund. If the advice wasn't worth $19, tell us why — we read everything.

7. Fair use

One purchase, one session, one person. Don't share session links, automate access, try to extract the underlying prompts or models, or use sessions for anything unlawful. We can end a session that abuses the service, and fair-use violations aren't refundable.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent New York law allows: we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages — including damages from decisions you make based on AI-generated advice — and our total liability to you for any claim connected to the service is capped at the amounts you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in this agreement limits any liability that cannot be limited under New York law.

9. Entire agreement

This Session Agreement, together with the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, is the entire agreement between you and Thirty Straight about your session, and it replaces any earlier discussions or messages. If this agreement conflicts with the Terms of Service on a session matter, this agreement controls. If any part of this agreement is found unenforceable, the rest still stands.

10. Governing law

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York.
