Thirty Straight Membership Agreement
Draft dated July 13, 2026 — not yet in force.
This is the agreement you accept when you start a Thirty Straight membership. It is written in plain English on purpose. It is short. Read the whole thing.
1. Who this agreement is between
This agreement is between you (the "member," "you") and [Your Legal LLC Name] LLC, a [New York] limited liability company doing business as Thirty Straight ("Thirty Straight," "we," "us"), with an address at [Address]. Sessions and the direct line are provided by the founder, who works under the professional name "James." You accept this agreement by checking the consent box at checkout and completing payment.
[ATTORNEY REVIEW: Confirm the LLC’s exact legal name, state of formation, and address, and confirm a "Thirty Straight" assumed-name (d/b/a) filing is in place in New York.]
2. What your membership includes
Every membership tier below includes the same core service each monthly billing period:
- Two 30-minute video sessions per month. Sessions do not roll over. Unused sessions expire at the end of the billing period and have no cash value.
- A direct WhatsApp line to James. Replies come within a few hours, 9am–9pm ET, 7 days a week. The line is for questions, follow-ups, and accountability between sessions. It is not an emergency line (see Section 5).
Current tiers:
- Founding Thirty — $149 per month. Available only to the first 12 members at launch. Your $149/month price is locked and will not increase for as long as you remain continuously subscribed. This is what the site's "locked for life" wording means: the lock lasts while your membership stays active; if you cancel and later rejoin, then-current pricing applies.
- The Thirty — $299 per month.
3. Scheduling, rescheduling, and missed sessions
- You book sessions through the scheduling link in your welcome email and member account. Thirty Straight is a one-person operation; sessions are subject to James's real availability, and reasonable booking windows will be offered each week.
- If you cancel or reschedule at least [24] hours before a session starts, the session goes back into your monthly allowance.
- If you cancel with less than [24] hours' notice, or you do not show up, the session counts as used.
- If James cancels or misses a session, it does not count against your allowance and you get priority rebooking.
[ATTORNEY REVIEW: cancellation/no-show window — founder to decide, suggest 24 hours]
4. What Thirty Straight is — and what it is not
Thirty Straight is personal coaching and mentorship: direct advice, strategy, and accountability on career, money, dating, discipline, and decisions.
Thirty Straight is not therapy, counseling, psychotherapy, or medical or mental-health care, and James is not a licensed therapist, counselor, physician, or mental-health professional. Membership is not licensed care of any kind and is not a substitute for it.
What you tell us stays private as a matter of policy (see the Privacy Policy), but no legally recognized professional-client privilege — like the ones that protect what you tell a doctor or a lawyer — applies to anything you share with Thirty Straight.
At signup you must affirm the following acknowledgment, and it is a condition of membership: "I understand this is coaching, not therapy or medical care, and not for crisis support."
5. Not a crisis service
If you are in crisis, thinking about harming yourself or someone else, or facing an emergency of any kind: call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline — free, confidential, 24/7) or call 911. Do not use the direct line for this, and do not wait for a session.
The direct line is not monitored around the clock. Replies come within a few hours, 9am–9pm ET. It is never a substitute for emergency services.
6. Billing, automatic renewal, and cancellation
- Automatic renewal. Membership is month-to-month. It renews automatically each month at your tier's price until you cancel.
- Consent at checkout. Before you pay, checkout clearly shows the price, that billing is monthly and automatic, and how to cancel. You agree by checking a box yourself — it is never pre-checked.
- Confirmation email. After signup, we send you an email restating your price, the renewal terms, and how to cancel, so you have a copy you can keep.
- One-step cancellation. You can cancel anytime, online, in one step, through your member account (the Stripe customer portal). No phone call, no email chain, no hoops.
- Effect of cancellation. You will not be charged again, and your membership stays active through the end of the period you already paid for.
- Founding price lock. If you are a Founding Thirty member, your $149/month price never increases while you remain continuously subscribed. If you cancel and later rejoin, you rejoin at then-current pricing.
- Notice of changes. If we change the price or any material term of your membership, we will email you clear notice at least 5 days, and no more than 30 days, before the change takes effect. The Founding Thirty price lock is the exception: that price does not change while you are continuously subscribed.
7. Refunds
Cancelling always stops future charges. Draft position for review: payments already made are non-refundable, except where this agreement says otherwise (see Section 8) or where the law requires a refund.
[ATTORNEY REVIEW: refund stance — founder to decide]
8. Ending the membership
- By you: cancel anytime as described in Section 6.
- By us: we may decline to renew your membership, or end it early by email notice, if you are abusive, misuse the direct line, break this agreement, or if the coaching relationship clearly is not working. If we end your membership mid-period for any reason other than your breach, we will refund the unused portion of that month's fee.
9. You make your own decisions
The advice you get from Thirty Straight is one coach's honest opinion. It is not professional financial, legal, tax, or medical advice, and you should not rely on it as such. You are solely responsible for your own decisions, actions, and results. When a decision calls for a licensed professional — a doctor, lawyer, accountant, or financial advisor — hire one.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent New York law allows: we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, and our total liability to you for any claim connected to your membership is capped at the amounts you paid us in the twelve (12) months before the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing in this agreement limits any liability that cannot be limited under New York law.
[ATTORNEY REVIEW: Confirm the liability cap and look-back period, and decide whether to add a dispute-resolution/arbitration clause and class-action waiver (placeholder per project plan).]
11. Entire agreement
This Membership Agreement, together with the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, is the entire agreement between you and Thirty Straight about your membership, and it replaces any earlier discussions or messages. If this agreement conflicts with the Terms of Service on a membership matter, this agreement controls. If any part of this agreement is found unenforceable, the rest still stands. If we do not enforce a term on one occasion, we can still enforce it later.
12. Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Subject to any dispute-resolution clause added under Section 10, any dispute will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in New York.
